eStamp stamp-duty state
Each state sets its own stamp duty rates and calculation methods for rent, license, loan, and partnership documents. For example, Maharashtra and Karnataka apply different formulas based on rent, deposit, and duration. WeSignDeal calculates applicable duty at checkout where eStamp is enabled. See our Pricing page for fee transparency.

eStamp estamp
Physical stamp paper is purchased from authorised vendors and attached to a printed agreement. eStamp is a digitally issued stamp duty certificate merged directly into your PDF. Both serve as evidence of stamp duty payment, subject to state requirements.

eStamp registration state
Registration requirements are separate from stamp duty and vary by state, agreement type, rent amount, and duration. Some states require sub-registrar registration for certain tenancies. A properly stamped and signed digital agreement is a strong foundation; check local registration norms for your transaction.

eStamp
WeSignDeal's integrated workflow procures and merges government eStamp where supported, so you do not need to visit a stamp vendor separately. Using external stamp paper is not part of the standard digital workflow. Contact support if you have a specific requirement.

eStamp estamp stamp-duty self-upload
Depending on the agreement type and your account permissions you may see up to three options. WeSignDeal processes Government Stamp Duty — you confirm the amount and we facilitate eStamp procurement, then merge the certificate into your agreement. You arrange and upload stamp duty yourself — available where the self-upload option has been enabled for your account. Continue without stamp duty processing — where you have determined none is payable or you will arrange it separately. In every case, deciding what is legally payable is your responsibility, not ours. See our Terms & Conditions for the full position.

eStamp estamp self-upload
Yes, if the self-upload option has been enabled for your account by the platform administrator. You arrange and pay stamp duty yourself through your usual channel, then upload the stamp certificate PDF. WeSignDeal places it as the first page of your signed agreement. Important: with self-upload we do not procure the stamp, and we do not verify its authenticity, amount, timing, sufficiency, or legal effect. Stamp duty compliance for that agreement rests entirely with you.

eStamp estamp state stamp-duty
No — and you should not assume it is. Stamp duty is a state subject, so rates, permitted stamping methods, and whether an electronic stamp certificate is accepted vary by State and Union Territory, and by the type of instrument. WeSignDeal supports government eStamp only for the agreement types and jurisdictions where our integration and providers can service the request; the option simply will not appear where it is unavailable. For anything unusual or high-value, confirm the position with a qualified professional or the relevant sub-registrar office before you rely on it.

eStamp stamp-duty declaration
You do. The platform may display a default selection or a suggested amount based on the agreement type and configuration, but that is general platform guidance for convenience, not a legal determination or professional advice. You enter, select, or confirm the amount, and you accept a stamp duty declaration recording that choice. We record the declaration text, version, and the date and time you accepted it, for audit purposes.

eStamp stamp-duty risk
Insufficient, incorrect, or unpaid stamp duty can affect whether an instrument is registered, authenticated, admitted in evidence, or accepted by an authority, and may attract penalties under the applicable Stamp Act. Because the amount is determined and confirmed by you, WeSignDeal cannot guarantee sufficiency and is not liable for consequences arising from an incorrect amount. If you are unsure, obtain professional advice before signing rather than after.

eStamp estamp registration
No. Stamping and registration are two different things. Paying stamp duty does not register a document with a sub-registrar. Some instruments — for example longer tenancies in certain states — additionally require registration, and some require physical presence. WeSignDeal facilitates stamping where supported but does not perform registration.
