Step-by-step

Detailed Step-by-Step Guide

Everything that happens at each stage of the WeSignDeal agreement workflow.

1

Choose agreement type

Start by selecting the agreement that fits your situation. WeSignDeal supports residential and commercial rent, leave & license, job offer letters, NDAs, freelancer and consultancy agreements, partnership and LLP deeds, loan agreements, and more.

  • Browse agreement types on the Do Agreement Online page
  • Each type is designed for specific use cases — property, employment, business, lending, and professional services
  • Live agreements open a guided creation workflow; coming-soon types may show notify-me options
  • Choose the template that best matches your parties and jurisdiction
2

Add parties

Enter everyone involved in the agreement. Depending on the agreement type, this may include individuals, companies, partners, witnesses, guarantors, co-borrowers, designated partners, or authorized signatories.

  • Individual parties — name, contact, and identification details
  • Company parties — business name, signatory, and optional registration documents
  • Multiple parties — landlords and tenants, lenders and borrowers, clients and consultants, partners
  • Additional roles — witnesses, guarantors, co-borrowers, or project managers where applicable
3

Upload documents

Parties upload the documents required for their role. Requirements vary by agreement type and party type — the workflow shows exactly what is needed.

  • Identity — Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence
  • Property — rent or license agreements may require property documents
  • Business — GST certificate, company registration, board resolution, authorization letter
  • Financial — bank statements, salary slips, collateral documents for loans
  • All uploads are stored securely in your WeSignDeal account — not sent over unsecured channels
4

Identity verification

WeSignDeal verifies parties before final signing to build a transparent audit trail. Verification data helps link the executed agreement to real individuals.

  • Live selfie capture or photo upload for identity confirmation
  • Aadhaar-linked mobile OTP during eSign through the authorised gateway
  • GPS location recorded when the user grants browser permission
  • IP address, browser, and device information logged at signing events
  • Timestamp recorded for each verification and signature step
5

Agreement generation

Your inputs are merged into a professionally drafted agreement template. The structure follows standard legal formatting while reflecting the details you entered.

  • Professionally drafted templates per agreement type
  • Editable clauses and additional terms where the workflow allows
  • Rich text editor for custom terms on supported agreements
  • Draft PDF preview before payment and signing
6

Review agreement

Before anyone signs, review the full draft PDF. Confirm that names, dates, amounts, clauses, and special terms are correct.

  • Read every clause in the draft preview
  • Edit while the agreement remains in draft or unlocked status
  • Share or discuss the draft with other parties before sending for execution
  • Changes after verification may require parties to re-confirm details
7

Payment (where applicable)

Some agreement types require online payment before execution. Payment is only required when applicable to the selected agreement and your jurisdiction — not every workflow includes this step.

  • WeSignDeal convenience fee for platform services
  • Government stamp duty where eStamp is enabled
  • Pay via UPI, cards, net banking, or wallets as shown at checkout
  • Payment receipt and invoice available in your account
8

eStamp workflow (where applicable)

For agreements that require stamp duty, WeSignDeal coordinates eStamp procurement. Availability depends on agreement type and applicable state requirements.

  • You submit the agreement after payment where eStamp applies
  • WeSignDeal procures the government eStamp for supported jurisdictions
  • The eStamp is uploaded and merged into your agreement PDF
  • Final preview becomes available before Aadhaar eSign
9

Aadhaar eSign

Each required party receives a secure signing invitation. They complete Aadhaar OTP verification through the configured eSign gateway — no physical meeting needed.

  • Individual signing links sent by email to each party
  • Aadhaar-linked OTP authentication through UIDAI-authorised gateway
  • Multiple signers complete independently on their own schedule
  • Remote signing — parties in different cities sign without travel
  • Signing events recorded with timestamp, IP, and device data
10

Agreement completed

Once all required parties sign, the agreement is marked complete. You receive a signed PDF with verification and signing audit summary.

  • Download the signed PDF anytime from your account
  • Email copies sent to parties where configured
  • Secure cloud storage — no lost paper copies
  • Full audit history and activity timeline for governance
  • Retrieve documents by agreement reference when needed

FAQ

How It Works — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the digital agreement process, Aadhaar eSign, documents, payment, and storage.

WeSignDeal guides you through choosing an agreement type, entering party details, uploading documents, identity verification, reviewing a draft, paying fees where applicable, completing eStamp where enabled, Aadhaar eSign by all parties, and downloading the signed PDF — all online.
After the draft is approved, each party receives an email with a secure link. They authenticate using an OTP linked to their Aadhaar through a UIDAI-authorised eSign gateway. The platform records timestamp, IP, and device information where applicable.
Requirements depend on agreement type and party role. Common documents include Aadhaar, PAN, live selfie, property documents for rent agreements, and business registration for company parties. The workflow shows exactly what each party must upload.
Yes. Verification and Aadhaar eSign happen online through individual links, so parties do not need to be in the same location to execute the agreement.
No. Payment is only required when applicable to the selected agreement type and jurisdiction — for example, convenience fees or stamp duty on supported rent and partnership agreements. Some agreement types may not require payment at all.
eStamp is a government-issued digital stamp duty certificate merged into your agreement PDF. Where enabled, WeSignDeal coordinates procurement after you pay applicable stamp duty online. Availability depends on agreement type and state requirements.
Yes, while the agreement remains in draft or editable status. Review the draft PDF carefully before sending for payment and eSign. Changes after verification may require parties to re-confirm details.
Yes. WeSignDeal supports multi-party agreements — landlords and tenants, lenders and borrowers, partners, clients and consultants, and more. Each party has independent verification and signing steps.
Yes. Many agreement types support company parties as landlords, tenants, clients, lenders, borrowers, or consultants, with optional business document uploads.
Yes. Executed agreements remain in your WeSignDeal account. You can download the signed PDF at any time after completion.
Drafts, verification uploads, and executed PDFs are stored in your secure WeSignDeal account. You access them by logging in — not through unsecured email attachments alone.
Parties typically complete live selfie capture and upload identity documents such as Aadhaar and PAN. Before final eSign, Aadhaar OTP authentication confirms the signer through the authorised gateway.
The platform records signing timestamps, IP address, browser and device information, and GPS location when permission is granted. Verification uploads and payment events are also logged on the activity timeline.
Yes. The WeSignDeal workflow is mobile-friendly. Most parties can upload documents and complete Aadhaar eSign from a smartphone browser.
The agreement status changes to completed. You can download the signed PDF, receive email copies where configured, and view the full audit timeline in your account.
Drafting can be done in one session. Total time depends on how quickly each party uploads documents, passes verification, pays fees where required, and completes Aadhaar eSign. eStamp steps may add time based on jurisdiction.
No. The entire workflow is digital. The executed PDF is your primary record — print only if you or a third party specifically requires a paper copy.
No. WeSignDeal is a technology platform for creating and executing agreements digitally. It does not provide legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for legal questions about your specific agreement.
WeSignDeal supports residential rent, commercial rent, leave & license, job offer letter acceptance, NDA and confidentiality agreements, freelancer agreements, consultancy agreements, service agreements, vendor agreements, affidavits, partnership deeds, LLP partnership agreements, and loan agreements. Availability of eStamp and Aadhaar eSign may vary by agreement type, state, and country.
Create a free WeSignDeal account, browse Do Agreement Online, select your agreement type, and follow the guided steps. This How It Works page explains each stage in detail.
The activity timeline shows which parties have completed verification and eSign. Email reminders are sent for key workflow events. You can follow up with parties who have pending actions.
WeSignDeal uses Aadhaar eSign through UIDAI-authorised providers, which is a legally recognised form of electronic signature in India for supported document types. Specific validity may depend on document type and applicable law — consult a legal professional for your situation.
Yes. Residential rent agreements support properties in Indian states and union territories — enter your property location in the workflow. Government eStamp integration and stamp duty rules may vary by state; applicable charges are shown at checkout where supported.
WeSignDeal accepts UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, and digital wallets for applicable fees and stamp duty as shown at checkout.
WeSignDeal uses HTTPS encryption, account access controls, individual signing links, and audit logging. See the Security & Privacy section on this page for more detail.
Yes. HR teams commonly use WeSignDeal for job offer letter acceptance and employment-related agreements with remote candidate signing.
Verification confirms identity through documents and selfie before signing. Aadhaar eSign is the final legally recognised electronic signature step using Aadhaar OTP through the authorised gateway.
For accounts where the self-upload option has been enabled, yes. You arrange and pay stamp duty yourself, then upload the stamp certificate PDF and WeSignDeal merges it as the first page of your signed agreement. In that case WeSignDeal does not procure the eStamp and does not verify the amount, authenticity, or legal sufficiency of what you upload — stamp duty compliance stays with you. See our Terms & Conditions for the full allocation of responsibility.
Depending on your agreement type and account permissions you may see: (1) WeSignDeal processes Government Stamp Duty — you confirm the amount and we facilitate the eStamp; (2) you arrange and upload stamp duty yourself, where that option is enabled; or (3) continue without stamp duty processing, where you have determined none is required or you will handle it separately. In all three cases the decision about what is legally payable is yours.
Once verification links are issued and payment is completed, key agreement fields lock so that every party reviews and signs the same version. Draft previews may be watermarked or partly masked until the workflow reaches the relevant stage. If something needs to change after locking, you may need a revised draft or a new agreement, and additional charges can apply.
Yes for document creation, party verification, and workflow management. Two features are India-specific: Aadhaar eSign requires the signer to authenticate through the Indian gateway, and government eStamp is available only for supported Indian states and agreement types. If your signers cannot use Aadhaar eSign, you can still prepare and manage the document, but you should confirm which signature method is acceptable in your jurisdiction.
Yes. Affidavits cover name change, address proof, date of birth, income, marriage, single status, gap year, lost documents, and general-purpose declarations. Service and vendor agreements cover scope, fees, delivery, and termination between businesses. Note that many affidavits still require notarisation, attestation, or physical stamp paper depending on the authority receiving them — check before relying on a digital copy alone.
Each named party signs for themselves. A person signing for a company, firm, LLP, or trust must be authorised to bind that entity. You must not complete another person's verification link or sign in their name — each link is personal to the invited party and the platform records who completed it, when, and from which device.
