3. Personal Data We May Collect
The personal data we collect depends on the services you use and the information required to complete your requested transaction. We may collect the following categories of information.
Account and profile information
Full name, email address, mobile number, account username or identifier, password or securely processed authentication credentials, email and mobile verification status, account role, account and communication preferences, account creation date, and account activity information.
Identity and verification information
Depending on the service requested, we may collect or process Aadhaar-related information or documents where applicable and lawfully processed, PAN-related information or documents, driving licence information, other identity documents, address proof, photographs, selfies, identity verification results, verification reference numbers, verification status, and verification audit information.
Where an identity verification or Aadhaar-related service is provided by an authorised third-party provider, relevant information may be processed through that provider's systems. WeSignDeal will seek to process only the information reasonably required for the relevant service.
Agreement and party information
When creating or processing an agreement we may collect names of agreement parties, contact information, residential and business addresses, company or organisation information, party role, agreement dates and duration, agreement terms, financial or consideration amounts, rent, deposit and loan amounts, payment and commercial terms, custom clauses and special conditions, signatory information, witness information where applicable, and other information entered into an agreement.
Users may provide personal data relating to other parties. Where you provide information about another person, you represent that you have the authority, permission, or other lawful basis required to provide that information to WeSignDeal for the requested service.
Property and rental information
For rental, lease, leave and license, or property-related agreements we may collect property address, type, description and identifiers, ownership-related information, landlord, tenant, licensor and licensee information, rent and deposit information, agreement tenure, utility or electricity information, property documents, index copies, ownership or supporting documents, and other information required for the selected agreement workflow.
Documents and files
Users may upload identity documents, address proof, property documents, utility bills, index copies, photographs, selfies, existing agreements, supporting documents, signed documents, and other transaction-related files.
We may store file metadata including file name, type and size, upload date and time, associated account, associated agreement or transaction, and processing status.
Users should not upload personal data or documents that are unnecessary for the selected service.
Remote party verification information
Where a party completes verification through a secure individual link, we may process the party's name and contact details, a live selfie or captured image, a drawn or uploaded specimen signature, uploaded identity or supporting documents, confirmation and acknowledgement records, link issue and completion timestamps, IP address, and device or browser information.
This information is used to record that the invited party completed the verification step for the specific agreement, to build the agreement audit trail, and to help detect misuse of verification links.
Electronic signature and eSign information
When you use electronic signature, digital signature, or eSign services, we may collect or process signatory name and contact information, signing and signature status, signing request identifiers, signing date and time, transaction references, audit events, consent or acknowledgement records, document identifiers, provider response information, and technical information associated with the signing workflow.
Where Aadhaar eSign or another third-party signing service is used, information may be processed by the relevant authorised provider in accordance with applicable law and the provider's privacy practices. WeSignDeal may receive confirmation, status, reference, or audit information from such providers.
Stamp duty and transaction information
We may collect and process whether you selected Government Stamp Duty processing through WeSignDeal, the stamp duty amount entered, selected or confirmed by you, the agreement type, stamp duty classification or recommendation displayed to you, the default selection displayed and whether you changed it, State or Union Territory information, relevant agreement or transaction information, declaration acceptance records, declaration version and text accepted by you, warning or acknowledgement records, date and time of acceptance, stamp duty or eStamp processing status, transaction references, account information, relevant audit information, IP address, and device, application or browser information where reasonably required.
We use this information to process your agreement request, record your stamp duty processing selection, calculate and display amounts payable, facilitate stamp duty or eStamp services where selected, maintain transaction and audit records, provide customer support, prevent misuse or fraud, investigate disputes, establish what information and declarations were presented and accepted, and comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Where required to provide the selected service, relevant information may be shared with authorised stamping, eStamp, payment, eSign, document-processing, technology, or other service providers involved in completing the requested transaction. WeSignDeal's display of a stamp duty recommendation, default selection, or suggested amount does not change the purposes for which related personal data is processed.
Self-arranged stamp duty uploads
If you choose to arrange Government Stamp Duty yourself and upload a stamp PDF, we may process your selection of the self-upload option, acknowledgement and confirmation records, the uploaded PDF file, merge status, and related audit metadata such as timestamps, IP address, and account identifiers.
We use this information to provide the upload and merge facility, maintain records, and support the agreement workflow. We do not use a self-upload to procure stamp duty on your behalf, and selecting self-upload means stamp duty compliance remains your responsibility as described in our Terms and Conditions.
Payment and billing information
When you make a payment we may collect or process payment amount and status, currency, order number, transaction reference, payment provider reference, payment date and time, Government Stamp Duty amount, eSign fees, convenience fees, platform or processing fees, taxable amount, GST or applicable tax amount, refund information, and payment dispute or chargeback information.
Payment card, banking, UPI, or other payment credentials may be processed directly by our payment service providers. WeSignDeal may not directly receive or store complete payment card details where the payment provider processes such information independently.
Communication and support information
When you contact us we may collect your name, email address, mobile number, support request details, messages, attachments, complaint information, agreement or transaction references, communication history, support status, and resolution information. We may retain support communications for customer service, security, training, dispute resolution, and operational purposes.
Notification and communication preferences
We may collect email, push and in-app notification preferences and status, device notification permissions, device or push notification token, notification delivery and read status, and communication opt-in or opt-out preferences. Disabling optional notifications may not prevent essential service, security, legal, or transaction-related communications where such communications are necessary.
Device, application, and technical information
We may automatically collect IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, application version, device identifiers where permitted, session information, login activity, date and time of access, requested pages or features, error information, security events, API activity, and application performance information.
We may use this information for Platform operation, authentication, security, fraud prevention, error investigation, performance monitoring, service improvement, and audit and dispute resolution.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use essential, authentication, session, security, preference, and — where enabled — analytics cookies. Essential cookies may be required for the Platform to function securely.
Where optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies are used and consent is required, we provide cookie controls. Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to essential Platform functionality, although certain preferences or optional features may be affected. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
4. How We Collect Personal Data
We may collect personal data directly from you when you create an account, create an agreement, enter information into a form, upload a document, make a payment, use an electronic signing workflow, select stamp duty processing, accept a declaration or acknowledgement, contact customer support, or use our website or mobile application.
We may also collect personal data from another agreement party who is authorised to provide your information; from service providers involved in a requested transaction, including payment, eSign, verification, and document-processing providers; from government or authorised systems where access and processing are lawfully available; and automatically through technical logs, cookies, and security systems.
5. Purposes for Which We Use Personal Data

We will seek to process personal data for purposes connected with the services requested, Platform administration, security, legal obligations, and other purposes permitted under applicable law.
6. Legal Bases and Consent
Depending on the applicable law, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases: to perform the service you requested or a contract with you; with your consent, including consent given through a clear affirmative action in the Platform; to comply with a legal obligation; to protect the security of the Platform and prevent fraud; and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where consent is required, WeSignDeal may request consent through checkboxes, confirmation screens, electronic declarations, agreement-specific acknowledgements, cookie controls, communication preference settings, or other clear affirmative actions. Consent requests may identify the personal data or category of personal data involved and the purpose of processing, as appropriate.
The specific Stamp Duty Declaration is separate from general acceptance of the Terms and Conditions or this Privacy Policy.
Where you withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent, the withdrawal will apply in accordance with applicable law. Withdrawal of consent does not automatically invalidate processing lawfully undertaken before withdrawal. Where information remains necessary for a legal obligation, dispute, transaction record, fraud investigation, or other legally permitted purpose, certain information may continue to be retained or processed.
7. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data to advertisers. We may share personal data where reasonably necessary with service providers or other recipients involved in providing, securing, or administering the Platform.
Electronic signature and eSign providers
Relevant information may be shared with authorised electronic signature, digital signature, or eSign service providers to facilitate document execution, including providers empanelled or authorised under applicable Indian law for Aadhaar eSign.

We may use hosting, cloud infrastructure, storage, database, email, notification, analytics, monitoring, cybersecurity, and other technology providers. Such providers may process information on our behalf or as otherwise described in their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Communication providers
Relevant contact and message information may be processed by email, SMS, push notification, WhatsApp, or other communication service providers where those channels are used.
Other agreement parties
Information necessary to prepare, review, sign, and complete an agreement is visible to the other parties to that agreement, and appears in the generated document and audit trail.
Government authorities and legal requests
We may disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, legal process, court order, regulatory requirement, or a lawful request from a competent authority. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or investigate fraud, misuse, or security incidents.
Business reorganisation
If WeSignDeal undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of business or assets, or similar corporate transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
8. Information Relating to Other Agreement Parties
A user creating an agreement may provide personal data relating to landlords, tenants, licensors, licensees, employers, employees, freelancers, consultants, service providers, vendors, partners, lenders, borrowers, deponents, witnesses, signatories, or other parties.
If you provide another person's personal data, you are responsible for ensuring that you are authorised or otherwise legally permitted to provide that information for the relevant agreement or transaction.
WeSignDeal may use the information to prepare the requested agreement, contact the relevant party where required, facilitate signing and verification, process documents, maintain transaction records, and provide the requested service.
Users must not submit another person's personal data for unrelated, fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful purposes.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was processed or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of personal data, the agreement or document involved, transaction status, payment requirements, stamp duty or eStamp processing, electronic signing requirements, audit and security requirements, fraud-prevention requirements, dispute or complaint status, applicable legal obligations, limitation periods, and the need to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may retain agreement records, completed documents, transaction and payment records, stamp duty declarations, declaration text snapshots, acceptance timestamps, eSign records, audit logs, verification records, security logs, and support records for an appropriate period where necessary for operational, compliance, evidentiary, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes.
When personal data is no longer required for a permitted purpose, we may delete, anonymise, or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable law and our data retention practices.
Deletion of an account does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of every transaction, agreement, audit, or legal record where continued retention is permitted or required.
10. Data Security
WeSignDeal takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Measures may include access controls, authentication controls, role-based permissions, secure communication protocols, encryption where appropriate, password protection, application security controls, logging and audit systems, backup procedures, server and infrastructure security, monitoring, security updates, and restricted administrative access.
No website, mobile application, server, storage system, or internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Certain requests may be subject to legal, security, identity-verification, transaction, evidentiary, or retention requirements. For example, WeSignDeal may be unable to immediately erase information that must be retained for a completed payment, agreement transaction, legal claim, fraud investigation, stamp duty process, signing audit, or applicable legal obligation.
We may request reasonable information to verify your identity before acting on a privacy request. To make a request, email info@wesigndeal.com with the subject line "Privacy request".
13. Withdrawal of Consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may request to withdraw that consent through available Platform controls or by contacting WeSignDeal. Withdrawal of consent shall be processed in accordance with applicable law.
Withdrawal may affect our ability to provide services that require the relevant personal data. For example, if you request deletion or withdraw relevant consent before an agreement is completed, WeSignDeal may be unable to continue document preparation, signing, verification, stamp duty, eStamp, or other processing.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing undertaken before the withdrawal where such processing was lawful.
14. Correction and Erasure Requests
You may request correction, completion, updating, or erasure of applicable personal data by contacting WeSignDeal. We may require you to verify your identity.
We may refuse or limit a request where continued processing or retention is required or permitted under applicable law.
Historical transaction records and audit records may not be editable in the same manner as normal profile information where modification would compromise the accuracy or integrity of a transaction record.
Where a correction affects an agreement that has already been paid, stamped, signed, or completed, a separate correction, reprocessing, or new agreement workflow may be required.
15. Grievance Redressal
If you have a concern or grievance regarding the processing of your personal data, you may contact WeSignDeal at info@wesigndeal.com with the subject line "Privacy grievance", or write to us at the postal address given below.

16. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users who are at least 18 years of age. WeSignDeal does not knowingly permit children to independently create user accounts or enter into agreements through the Platform.
Information relating to a child should only be submitted where lawfully required for a legitimate agreement or document process and where the person submitting the information has the necessary authority.
If we become aware that personal data relating to a child has been improperly submitted, we may take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.
17. International Data Processing and Cross-Border Use
WeSignDeal may use technology, cloud, communication, security, or other service providers that operate infrastructure in India or other jurisdictions.
Where personal data is processed or stored outside India, WeSignDeal will seek to handle such processing in accordance with applicable legal requirements and any applicable restrictions on cross-border processing.
If you access the Platform from outside India, you understand that your information may be processed in India and in other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your country of residence.
The location of a service provider's infrastructure may change over time. WeSignDeal may review service providers and processing arrangements as reasonably necessary for Platform operation, security, and compliance.
18. Email, Push, and Service Communications
WeSignDeal may send service-related communications concerning account verification, security, agreement submission and processing, action required, payment status, eSign requests, signing status, stamp duty or eStamp clarification, agreement completion, document availability, support requests, and important Platform notices.
These communications are generally connected with your account or a service requested by you. Where marketing or promotional communications are sent, WeSignDeal may provide an unsubscribe or preference-management option where required.
You may be able to manage certain notification preferences through the Platform. Disabling optional push or email notifications does not necessarily prevent essential security, legal, account, or transaction communications.
19. Cookies and Cookie Preferences
WeSignDeal provides a cookie consent or preference mechanism where appropriate. Users may be able to accept optional cookies, reject optional cookies, and manage cookie preferences.
Essential cookies required for authentication, security, session management, or core Platform functionality may operate without optional cookie consent where permitted by applicable law. WeSignDeal does not intend to disable essential agreement functionality merely because a user rejects optional analytics or preference cookies.
Browser settings may also allow users to manage cookies. Disabling certain browser storage or essential cookies may affect login, session, or security functionality. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
20. Third-Party Links and Services
The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, portals, or services.
WeSignDeal is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third parties. Users should review the privacy policies and terms of third-party services before providing information directly to them.
21. Automated Processing and Platform Recommendations
The Platform may use automated rules, software logic, or configured workflows to generate documents, display agreement options, apply agreement type configurations, display stamp duty processing recommendations, display default selections, calculate payment breakdowns, route agreements through processing workflows, trigger service notifications, identify incomplete information, and support fraud or security monitoring.
A platform recommendation or default selection does not necessarily constitute a legal determination or professional advice. For example, a stamp duty processing recommendation may be based on the selected agreement type and Platform configuration.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects about you without human involvement. Users remain responsible for reviewing and confirming information as described in the Terms and Conditions.
22. Changes to This Privacy Policy
WeSignDeal may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Platform services, new features, changes to data-processing activities, changes to service providers, security requirements, operational changes, and changes in applicable law or regulatory requirements.
